Horton Plains & World's End Trek

World’s End is the dramatic centerpiece of Horton Plains National Park, featuring a staggering 880-metre vertical drop that offers one of the most spectacular panoramic views in Sri Lanka’s central highlands. Reached via a scenic 9.5 km circular nature trail through misty cloud forests and golden montane grasslands, this sheer escarpment allows hikers to look out over a vast valley of tea plantations and distant mountain ranges, sometimes stretching as far as the Indian Ocean on exceptionally clear mornings. To catch the best view before the thick mountain mist rolls in and obscures the horizon, visitors typically begin the trek at dawn, encountering high-altitude wildlife like Sambar deer and the beautiful Baker’s Falls along the way.
